PARIS 2009: Metro Air agrees to take 40 more Airbus aircraft

U.S. carrier Metro Air has tentatively agreed to acquire another 40 Airbus aircraft, with 40 options. The initial delivery consists of 20 A320s, 15 A319s and 5 A321s. No details could be provided on the type mix on the 40 options.

The U.S. carrier has signed a memorandum of understanding at the Paris Air Show today.

The aircraft will be powered by IAE V2500 engines. Metro Air already operates twenty-nine A319s and 5 A321s.

Additionally, Metro Air announced that they will resume deliveries on the eight outstanding Airbus aircraft in the coming weeks.
