MetroAir offering vacation flights to select Mexico and Caribbean destinations

*Kansas City, MO (AP) – December 17, 2010; 00:00 GMT *– Kansas City based MetroAir Virtual Airlines in partnership with Apple Vacations has announced the launch of new exclusive vacation flights between Fort Lauderdale and Barbados, Punta Cana, Turks and Caicos, Montego Bay and Port of Spain Trinidad.

In addition to these exciting Caribbean destinations, MetroAir Virtual Airlines is excited to announce our return to Mexico with exclusive vacation flights between Ontario and Los Cabos, Acapulco, Pureto Vallarta and Mazatlan.

The inaugural flights to these exciting new destinations from Fort Lauderdale and Ontario are scheduled for Saturday December 18th using MetroAir’s state of the art Airbus A320 aircraft. MetroAir is dedicated to fostering relationships to offer private white-label service to our tour partners and two aircraft have been chosen as the exclusive aircraft to operate on these charters. We have repainted N555CL and N554CL which will operate these seasonal vacation flights on behalf of Apple Vacations.

“These new destinations have a distinct and beautiful flare that makes them some of the most unique destinations in MetroAir’s  sun and fun destinations,” said Mike Adamo, Director of Charter Operations.  “Each of these destinations are alive with culture and cuisine,” said Kim Gesch Chief Operating Officer.
Barbados Minister of Tourism Mr. Richard L. Sealy said the country was very excited to welcome the MetroAir family to Barbados and said “We are sure that MetroAir guests and our Apple Vacation guests are as eager as we are to touch down in these inspiring island destinations, and Barbadians wishing to visit the United States, their friends and family now have a daily flight opportunity.”

As part of its evolving 2010/2011 winter charter schedule, MetroAir is also expanding its seasonal service from Fort Lauderdale, Kansas City, Washington and Ontario to include charter services to several other Caribbean and Mexican destinations.
