Kansas City, MO – December 19, 2010 – Kansas City based airline MetroAir Virtual today announced it had reached an agreement with the Chinese government and effective as of Monday December 20th would be commencing flights to the capital city of Beijing. This moves marks a continuing pace to reenter the Asian market after Metro resumed flights to Tokyo, Japan last month.
“We are excited to receive approval to fly into Beijing. It has been a long time in the making.” said Kim Gesch, Chief Operating Officer. MetroAir operated limited charter flights to Beijing for the 2008 Olympics. “MetroAir’s loyal business customers have long requested a permanent scheduled route to Beijing and we are thrilled we can now operate in that market.”
Metro also announced on the domestic side it would also be resuming flights to the island state of Hawaii. It is expected that these flights will also link with the new Asian routes.
