E170 Begins Scheduled Service

After months of planning and organising the day everyone has been waiting for has finally come! From 18th May 2011 the Allegius/MetroAir E170 begins scheduled service from Washington and other east coast hubs. The 1st of these E170s was delivered earlier this week and after some final fine tuning and other preparations the Aircraft is ready for its 1st paying passengers. MET5010 from Washington to Montreal took off this morning at 10am local for its inaugural flight. After a 30 minute turnaround the E170 made its return journey to Washington landing 15 minutes ahead of schedule. The 1st plane will be operating a twice daily service to Montreal beginning at 10am and 4pm from Dulles Intl Airport. The 2nd E170 is due to begin service from Kansas City to Charlotte at the end of May, stay tuned for more details.
