MetroAir today announced the start of the winter seasonal charter flights on Monday, November 5.
Two A320 aircraft are being ferried to the South American cities of Bogota, Columbia and Buenos Aires, Argentina. They will operate service on behalf of Viva Columbia, a new airline, to help expand their service to new destinatons. From Bogota, one of our aircraft will operate flights to Caracas, Lima, Quito, La Paz, Panama, and to the other hub in Buenos Aires. The aircraft based in Argentina will operate to Asuncion, Santiago, Punta Arenas, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Recife, and back to Bogota as well.
“We are very excited about our new partnership with Viva Columbia,” said Alex Norgaard, Director of Charter Operations for MetroAir. “These new flights will provide expanded service for Viva Columbia customers, as well as offer new connection opportunities for MetroAir customers.” MetroAir currently serves Bogota from Baltimore and Fort Lauderdale and Buenos Aires from Ontario and Fort Lauderdale.
In addition to the A320s, MetroAir has also partnered with several travel companies to operate charters using our A330 aircraft. One aircraft will operate to Madeira, Portugal, Marseille, France, and Casablanca, Morocco (once a week each).
Ski service flights will be announced at a later date.
