Due to real world commitments, Matt Dissinger is leaving his position as Chief Technology Officer. He has agreed to stay on at MetroAir through the 757 re-launch to allow his responsibilities to be transitioned to other staff. Since joining MetroAir in 2011, Matt has been a great asset to MetroAir. He has served extremely well in his role as Chief Technology Officer and has been integral to some of our recent releases including our AI packages, the latest version of ACARS, and our fleet installers. Dissinger also helped to spearhead the VATSIM P1 training program at MetroAir. He will be sorely missed.
Lindle Romero joined MetroAir in 2006 and joined the staff shortly after. He has served as Director of Training, Ontario Hub Manager, VP of Operations, and most recently, Chief Personnel Officer. While on staff Lindle has been responsible for almost every podcast that has been produced. As some of you know, Lindle also owns and operates VAFlash. With his affiliation with VAFlash and his knowledge of MetroAir’s media and marketing needs, Lindle will be entering a newly created position of Chief Media Officer. Lindle will be managing the Media & Marketing department as well as taking on some of the duties left behind by Matt Dissinger.
Derrick Medlin has accepted the offer to fill the position left vacant by Lindle as Chief Personnel Officer. Derrick has been a pilot with MetroAir since 2008. In September of 2009 he became the Allegius Hub Manager. Since then he has served as a Mainline Hub Manager in each of MetroAir’s hub cities. As the Chief Personnel Officer, Derrick will be supervising 3 departments, hub management, humans resources, and training and mentoring. Derrick’s promotion also now brings him up to the executive floor with his own corner office.
It is sad to see Matt Dissinger leave the staff but we are all excited to see Lindle and Derrick transition into their new roles and see how they can help to propel new changes and bring their expertise to their new positions. Please join me in congratulating Lindle and Derrick and wishing Matt the best of luck going forward.
