New Year. New Routes. New Cities

KANSAS CITY, MO-The new year begins at MetroAir with officials announcing early January 1st that the Airline is launching two new South American cities to its ever growing list.

From Jan 1st 2014 the airline will now serve daily flights from its east coast hub of Baltimore to Manaus, Brazil and also from their Florida focus city to Brasilia and Manaus, Brazil. All flights will be operated on the newly acquired A319 aircraft that were delivered in December 2013.

The addition of Brasilia and Manaus takes the airlines Brazilian cities list to three. Brazil has always been notoriously difficult to negotiate with when allowing foreign airlines to operate, but with the start of January 2014 it marks exactly 2 years of safe operation for the airlines non stop service to Rio from Baltimore. Airline executives had been in negotiation with Brazilian authorities for some time trying to expand further into the Brazilian market.

The airlines Chief Executive Officer, Matthew Calsada said “We are delighted to announce these new routes. It marks the end of much negotiating and deliberating with officials in Brazil but we feel that it was all worth while. We are committed to expanding our services to the places that our passengers want and these now direct services to the US will help boost passenger figures across the board in both FLL and BWI.”

All flights are now active and will operate as follows:

FLL-MAO MET91 05:30

BWI-MAO MET93 06:45

FLL-BSB MET95 06:45
