BALTIMORE, MD
– MetroAir Virtual will end direct flights from Baltimore-Washington to Guayaquil, Ecuador and Georgetown, Guyana, with February 28th being the last day for the route.

MetroAir Virtual notified airport officials of the end of direct service to the U.S. Capitol

“It just turned out that direct flights to Guayaquil and Georgetown didn’t meet our initial expectations,” MetroAir COO William Hogarth said.

MetroAir statistics show the average load factor on flights between Baltimore and Ecuador and Guayana were below 57%, on average. Despite nonstop service ending to BWI, MetroAir will maintain once daily service to both cities from Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. Passengers traveling to Guayaquil or Georgetown after Feb. 28th will be rebooked  on flights through Ft. Lauderdale.
