BOSTON, MA – MetroAir Virtual Airlines today announced that it will launch a new business class-only flight between Boston and London-Heathrow, beginning September 1st.
The new service will be operated by an Airbus A319 configured in a 40 seat, 10 row, 2-2 configuration. MetroAir’s business class equivalent, “Prime”, features fully lie-flat beds, universal AC power outlets and USB plugs at each seat, 15.4 inch touchscreen monitors with complimentary programming, and a world-class menu with international flavors.
“We’re very excited to be able to offer this premium service,” said MetroAir CMO Anders Young, “This flight connects two of the world’s greatest cities and offers both leisure and business travelers an exceptional method of travel.”
While Prime is already offered between Boston and London-Heathrow on the existing 757 flight, the A319 service will triple the number of Prime seats available between the cities. Prime Class tickets receive dedicated check-in desks, as well as fast tracked security and immigration at both Boston and London-Heathrow. Check-in times are reduced to just 45 minutes on both ends, compared to the standard two hour time for most international flights.
“London is by far and away one of the top overall destinations from Boston,” explained COO William Hogarth, “and Boston is an equally important market from London and other European destinations.”
Passengers will have the option in London to connect to points in Europe, Asia, and Africa through MetroAir codeshare partner, Fly UK Virtual Airways.
The Airbus A319 used to operate this new flight is equipped with Sharklets, extending its range to 3,700 nautical miles. Due to the extended range, flights are able to be operated nonstop. Flights will be operated daily with a scheduled duration of 6hr 20min from Boston to London-Heathrow, while the return flight is scheduled for 7hr 05min.
