KANSAS CITY, MO — This morning, MetroAir Virtual Airlines announced that they have signed a limited charter agreement with Major League Baseball’s American League champions, the Kansas City Royals.
MetroAir will fly the Kansas City Royals to and from New York, NY for their away games with the National League champion New York Mets in the 2015 World Series.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for us here at MetroAir.” states Zak Winnick, Director of Charter Operations for MetroAir. “We’ve been mutual sponsors with the Royals since our move to Kansas City a few years ago. It’s wonderful to be able to support them during this exciting series.”
For those wanting to keep track of the flights, MetroAir flight 8985 will depart Wheeler Downtown Airport (KMKC) at 7:00 PM on October 29th to LaGuardia International Airport and return on November 2nd as flight 8986 at 8:00 AM. The flight will be flown by one of two Boeing 757-200Ws owned by MetroAir that are dedicated to charter flights.
The last time the Kansas City Royals won the World Series was in 1985. The New York Mets last won in 1986.
