BOSTON, MA – MetroAir Virtual Airlines has announced today intentions to begin daily flights to Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport from Boston-Logan.
Mumbai is India’s most populus city, and second in the country to be served by MetroAir. The flight will be operated by Boeing 787-8 equipment beginning May 1st, and will operate from Boston’s International Terminal E and Mumbai’s new Terminal 2.
The new flight will be a first between New England and India, connecting two cultural and technological centers of the world. Both Boston and Mumbai are leaders in the technology industry of their respective countries. However, each city is more well known for their educational establishments. Boston is home to over 100 colleges and universities, including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Harvard University, Boston University, and Boston College, while Mumbai is home to the Indian Institute of Technology, Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute, and the University of Mumbai.
