CEO Matt Calsada appointed Chairman; Acting CEO William Hogarth promoted.

The board of directors of MetroAir Virtual today announced that Matt Calsada has been appointed to a permanent position as Chairman of the Board of Directors. William Hogarth, who has served as Acting Chief Executive Officer for the past year, has been named Chief Executive Officer.

Matt joined MetroAir as a pilot soon after MetroAir was founded. Within 8 months of joining he was promoted to Hub Manager of the single hub at the time at Detroit. He has held every position on staff including HR Manager, Chief Technology Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and finally the role of Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Calsada permanently assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer in July 2008. "Matt has been pivotal in MetroAir's successes. He leaves the airline in a stronger position," said Hogarth.

"Due to personal reasons I must step back from MetroAir. Continuing education and expanded leadership roles in my day job requires the same time and effort as I have given to MetroAir," said Calsada. "MetroAir is a great airline and I have every confidence that William and the existing leadership team will continue that tradition, stewarding great new opportunities in the months ahead. I wish all the pilots and staff of MetroAir much success in the future."
