Today MetroAir Virtual subsidiary Makai Express announced inaugural jet service from its Honolulu, HI base to select West Coast cities, including San Diego, Seattle, and San Francisco.
The service will be conducted with new Boeing 757-200s that have been acquired from its parent organization due to fleet modernization. These new services competitively position Makai Express against larger carriers in an increasingly competitive market in the islands, which in the past years has seen a stark jump in inter-island flying and more connections to the West Coast and beyond. The additional flights will serve to complement existing MetroAir service from Portland, Los Angeles, and Dallas Fort-Worth, as well as Guam, enhancing connectivity throughout the Pacific Rim.
New flights will be loaded Monday, June 22nd, and will be a permanent service addition to the network.
