KANSAS CITY, MO-
Today, MetroAir announced the purchase of 6 Boeing 777-200LRs formerly operated by another major US airline. In a move poised to refresh and expand Metro's ever-growing longhaul capacity, the 777-200LR will supplement the larger, 300ER fleet by providing a longer range aircraft optimized for ultra-long-haul service.
Delivery flights from Atlanta, GA will commence immediately, and the -200LR fleet will start service from Metro's Los Angeles hub to Singapore Changi Airport imminently. Further service to Kuala Lumpur will begin later this year.
This exciting development is yet more investment in MetroAir's commitment to developing and nurturing its impressive long-haul market share focused on both business and leisure travel, supplemented by a robust domestic route network. We hope you enjoy the 777-200LR and the new doors it opens for our organization.
